Morocco's total commitment to peace as a strategic choice to resolve the Palestinian crisis

The Kingdom of Morocco, under the Leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al Quds Committee, will forever remain a "key defender" of the Palestinian Cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in order to achieve their aspirations to live in freedom and dignity, said Morocco's Ambassador to Ramallah Mohamed Hamzaoui.

Speaking during a meeting organized by videoconference under the theme "With peace, against occupation", the Ambassador reiterated Morocco's rejection of all unilateral measures that the Israeli authorities could take in the occupied lands.

These unilateral measures constitute a clear violation of the resolutions of international legitimacy and international law, of the internationally agreed two-state solution and undermine all efforts to restore the just and comprehensive peace to which the international community aspires, stressed Mr. Hamzaoui during this conference organized by the Office of the Chief Justice of Palestine in partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs.

The Moroccan diplomat recalled Morocco's "total commitment" to peace as a strategic choice to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and its conviction that the approach of dialogue remains the only effective means to reach a just and lasting solution to this conflict in order to allow the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate right to establish their independent and sovereign State with East Al-Quds as capital.

Morocco, he went on to say, calls for intensifying efforts by international actors and peaceful forces around the world to protect the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, to face Israeli practices that violate international legitimacy as well as to launch a constructive peace dynamic guaranteeing stability for all the peoples of the region.
