- I had this morning, the immense privilege and the great honor to present to His Excellency the President Cyril Ramaphosa the letter of Credence by which His Majesty Mohammed VI appoints me as Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to South Africa.
- I conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the President Cyril Ramaphosa expressing his Majesty’s desire to reinforce bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
- As I begin this challenging and yet exciting mission, I will devote myself with dedication to give substance to the renewed ambition of our two governments, to advance and promote a strong bilateral Partnership that is more than ever Rich in its substance, Positive in its approach and Promising in its perspective.
- Our two countries commonly agreed upon the necessity to achieve this ambition by deepening and reinforcing their historical relations, inherited from the years of struggle against apartheid and colonialism.
- The Kingdom of Morocco and South Africa are the largest investors in the continent and as regional hubs are be called upon to play major roles in Africa integration process by enhancing inter-African trade and investment to promote growth, and shared prosperity through appropriate tools like the African continental free-trade area.
- On this note my priority is to build the appropriate bridges in order to :
- Reinforce and intensify our political dialogue at a bilateral level but also at the level of the Africa Union
- Increase export capacity and support direct investment flows
- Promote people-to-people bond by deepening exchanges in the areas of culture, education, food security, climate change, energy and tourism .
- Proactive in its approach and pragmatic in his conduct, it is this policy that prevailed for the historical return of Morocco within the African Union and it is in line, with this same policy that I will exert my efforts to expand and deepen the friendship, the mutual understanding and the fruitful cooperation that serves our shared values and interests .
