Morocco called, on the 11th of June 2020 in Addis Ababa, for the creation of a platform of African experts in the fight against epidemics in order to help the Continent face future health challenges.
Ambassador Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the African Union and the UNECA, Mr. Mohamed Arrouchi, who was speaking during a videoconference meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the AU devoted to examining the socio-economic and humanitarian impact of COVID-19 in Africa, underlined the importance of this platform in promoting the exchange of experiences and supporting governments in their respective action plans in the fight against diseases and the spread of epidemics, including COVID-19.

The Moroccan diplomat insisted on the importance of focusing efforts on programs and activities to ensure sustainable food security, citing in this regard the Triple A Initiative to adapt African agriculture to climate changes.
The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the AU and UNECA has, in this context, highlighted the initiatives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI during the African Summit of Action, particularly the Triple A Initiative to adapt the African agriculture to climate change, which was strongly supported by the African Union at the Summit last February by decisions of the Heads of State who called for the mobilization of the resources necessary for its implementation and its support in the Continent.
In this context, the Commissioner for Political Affairs Minata Cessouma welcomed the Kingdom's efforts towards African migrants and highly commendable efforts towards the students of the Continent, many of whom are pursuing their studies in Morocco, the Mission of the Kingdom said.
