The Kingdom of Eswatini reaffirmed its solidarity with the Kingdom of Morocco in preserving its sovereignty and territorial integrity, said on Monday a statement from the Eswatini's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
"The Kingdom of Eswatini fully recognizes the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco over all its territory and the right of its Government to restore and ensure the free movement of people and goods in the buffer zone of El Guergarat", in the Moroccan Sahara, underlined the statement, noting that Eswatini "followed the developments in the buffer zone of Guergarat", after the incursion of the "polisario" in this zone.
It added that the Kingdom of Eswatini recalls the various statements and resolutions by the United Nations according to which regular civil and commercial traffic should not be hampered in the buffer zone, and also recalls that no measures should be taken to alter the status quo agreed upon during the negotiated ceasefire.
The Kingdom of Eswatini urges, on this occasion, the UN Secretary General to accelerate the appointment of his Personal Envoy for the Sahara in order to give impetus to the peace process, in accordance with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, it noted.
