Pan-African Parliament (PAP) Interim President Fortune Charumbira hailed, Saturday in Rabat, the Leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
During talks with Habib El Malki, Speaker of the House of Representatives (Lower House), Charumbira welcomed the measures undertaken by the Kingdom in this regard, expressing his admiration for the development that Morocco is experiencing in various areas under the wise Leadership of His Majesty the King.
According to a statement of the Lower House, Charumbira stressed his keenness to promote cooperative relations with the Moroccan Parliament, noting that the Pan-African Parliament was created to be at the service of development in the African continent.
The official also reviewed the preparations for the renewal of the organs of the Pan-African Parliament, during the next session to be held in May of this year.
For his part, El Malki highlighted the role of the Pan-African Parliament in bringing together the peoples of the continent and the importance of strengthening this institution and giving it the necessary legality. He also called for democratic dialogue to resolve conflicts in the African continent.
The speaker also noted that the upcoming elections of the structures of the Pan-African Parliament should be a democratic moment, expressing the strong will of the Moroccan Parliament to make this event a success and to contribute actively to the construction of a united Africa, the statement concluded.
