Moroccan NGO Tibu Africa elected Best NGO in North Africa in Johannesburg

Tibu Africa, a Moroccan NGO working in the field of youth empowerment and socio-economic inclusion through sport in the Kingdom and in Africa, was elected, on 24 November 2022 in Johannesburg, best NGO in North Africa by the organization Leading like Mandela and Sport for Social Change network.

The Best NGO Award was presented to the president of Tibu Africa, Mohamed Amine Zariat, during a ceremony held at SABC Radio Park in Johannesburg, in the presence of Allan Williams, director of the Sport for Social Change Network (SSCN) and members of the family of former South African President Nelson Mandela Madiba.

The Sport for Social Change Network officially launched the first SSCN Africa Awards under the theme “Leading like Mandela”, to honor, through the presentation of various awards, the many heroes and social actors across the continent who are supporting and encouraging young people to unleash their potential through the power of sport.

Tibu Africa operates from the perspective of being in alignment with Nelson Mandela’s famous maxim which said: “Sport has the power to change the world and the power to inspire and unite people like few other means. make “.

Through its many programs with a strong social impact, the Moroccan NGO contributes to the professional integration of young people, the socio-economic integration of young people from the sub-Saharan diaspora and returning Moroccans, the emancipation and empowerment of young girls in urban and rural areas, the empowerment of women in working-class neighborhoods and the inclusion of young people with reduced mobility through the power of sport.

The key message delivered during this 1st edition of the SSCN Africa Awards is to connect current actors of change who have become well aware of social problems and decided to work hard in the development of projects and programs, through sport for the benefit of African youth.

Tibu Africa provides wide national coverage in more than 25 cities and 12 regions of the Kingdom, as well as in 6 African capitals. It aims to become the locomotive of sport for development in Africa by 2030.
